Letter from Benjamin Franklin to Lord Kames, April 11, 1767At the time this letter was written, Franklin was a wise old man. He wrote the letter to warn Lord Kames, an official in England, what would happen if the English kept trying to control the colonists by imposing taxes, like the Stamp Act. He warned that they would revolt.
