The plants that you see in these pictures were very important in the history of Maryland. Growing, harvesting, selling and using these plants were the basis of colonial Maryland's economy. In this learning adventure, you will learn more about the lives of people who planted, harvested, and sold tobacco and wheat. You will learn about the different jobs that people did during colonial history. You will play a game to help you learn about when people decided to stop growing tobacco and start growing wheat.
