Pride Inc. Announces Appointment of
Daniel S. Parrott
as Second Captain of Pride II!

The Board of Directors of Pride, Inc. is proud to announce the selection of Daniel S. Parrott as the new permanent Captain of Pride of Baltimore II. Captain Parrott will join Captain Jan Miles as the second full-time master of the vessel, and will share duties on and off the ship. Dan had been named interim Captain in late December, 1997, and successfully piloted the vessel from the Panama Canal to Honolulu, Hawaii.

After completing his Master's Degree in Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island this spring, Dan immediately headed out to Pusan, South Korea, to relieve Captain Miles. He will remain on board as Captain throughout Pride II's stay in Japan.

Dan spent many years aboard traditional sailing vessels and has worked as master of Tole Mour, Bill of Rights, and Harvey Gamage. Prior to his earlier stint as interim Captain of Pride II, Dan had also spend two tours with Pride, Inc. as Deckhand/Watch Officer on the original Pride of Baltimore, and as First Mate aboard Pride II during her 1991 European Tour. Dan even met his wife Kimberly when the two were working aboard Pride II.
