Pride of Baltimore II

Pride of Baltimore II is a reproduction of an 1812-era topsail schooner privateer.  She is Maryland’s working symbol of the great natural resources and spectacular beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region, and a reminder of America’s rich maritime heritage.

Pride of Baltimore II’s mission is to educate the public on U.S. maritime history and Maryland commerce opportunities.  As the world’s most traveled historic tall ship, Pride of Baltimore II:

  • promotes historical education regarding Baltimore built Topsail Schooners and their crucial role in naval innovation, the War of 1812, and the penning of “The Star-Spangled Banner”;
  • serves as a unique learning platform to build math, science, environmental studies and social studies programs; and
  • serves as a visual representative of American History and entrepreneurship in every port she visits.

Pride of Baltimore II is owned and operated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Pride of Baltimore, Inc. Continuation of Pride II’s mission is contingent on private funding.  The ship is managed by a small staff located at 1801 S. Clinton Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21224.
