The 2010 PRIDE Persons of the year Celebration was a great success!
It was a great privilege to have the level of guests attending this year’s event ~ educators and others who share the same passion about the education of Maryland’s youth. In addition to Dr. Grasmick and Dr. Alonso, State and City Education officials, the guests included a number of the 2009/2010 Teachers of the Year from Counties all across Maryland, as well as the 2010 MD State Teacher of the Year, Jennifer Rankin, from Garrett County. Several of the Principals from MD’s Blue Ribbon Schools were also on hand to salute our honorees. Leslie Bridgette, Pride II’s Teacher Aboard for the 1998 Asia Tour was also on hand and Congressman John Sarbanes made a special appearance to recognize and thank Dr. Grasmick and Dr. Alonso for their dedication and commitment to Maryland’s students and teachers.
Attendees enjoyed a spectacular selection of culinary delights from local establishments, refreshing libations, live music featuring Raggs and the All-Stars, as well as a live and silent auction that boasted specialty and one-of-a-kind items, all in a setting that offered a magnificent view from the grounds of The Baltimore Museum of Industry. Proceeds from the event help keep Pride II sailing and support her educational missions.
