Pride’s mission is to promote historical maritime education, foster economic development and tourism, and represent the people of Maryland in every port she visits.

25 Years of Pride

Known by sight in ports across the world, Pride of Baltimore has served as a symbol of entrepreneurial spirit, maritime prowess, and nautical craft for three and a half decades. “Baltimore built” in the style of the city’s famous War of 1812 privateers, she is an icon of America’s maritime history, representing the heritage and entrepreneurship of our nation with unmistakable flair and panache.

Pride of Baltimore II was commissioned in 1988 to carry on the mission of her predecessor, Pride of Baltimore. Both ships were designed as reproductions of 1812-era topsail schooners, and built in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland. Each season the vessel visits dozens of ports of call, and welcomes aboard over 100,000 people for deck tours, sailing charters, day sails, youth programs, private events and overnight guest crew experiences.

Pride has been a recognizable maritime icon since the organization’s creation in 1977.  We appreciate your support as we move forward in the next exciting chapter of Pride of Baltimore’s history.
